As part of the short story trailer assignment, I got the opportunity to spend a class period going over the fundamentals (and by fundamentals, I mean 'basics') of iMovie on the iPads provided by MHS. For this lesson, I demonstrated the basic navigation on iMovie using an overhead projector so the students could follow along.
After viewing the lesson, a colleague suggested that I could improve the quality of the students' learning by providing for them a hand out they could use to follow the tutorial and make notes on. Such a scaffold would likely improve attention and mitigate their dependence on me later in the class when working independently on the iPads.
